Monday 25th June 2012

One selection for Monday on a fairly quiet day's racing.

4.45 Wolverhampton John Potts 2pts each-way AND 1pt win @ 8/1 (Bet 365, Boylesports, Betfred, William Hill, www.brucebetting.com, all guaranteed prices)

Brian Baugh generally does well at Wolverhampton during the winter, but his stable was suffering from a virus last winter and his representatives largely underperformed. They have come good in the last couple of months, with a winner at Wolverhampton ridden by William Carson, who takes over on John Potts today, and a couple of placed horses. The selection ran quite well last time out on turf, a surface he is 0-7 on, and it is interesting to note that he battled on quite well and posted his best ever figure for turf. He is a different animal on the all weather and around Wolves in particular, and he looks likely to get the strong pace which will suit him this afternoon. His current handicap mark of OR65 is a winning one, and if he puts his best foot forward, the opposition today have enough question marks about them that the race looks his for the taking.
