All eyes are on the Durkan Chase today, I'm in the Sir Des Champs camp and at 7/4 he is probably a good price too - albeit a bit short for us.
1.50 Lingfield Merchant's Return 2pts each-way AND 1pt win @ 16/1 (Bet 365, guaranteed, 14/1 generally guaranteed)
A difficult ride, but he has been knocking at the door of late and is better than his finishing position from last time out suggests, having made a sweeping mid race move off a slow pace, five wide around the Kempton turn. The likes of Dewala should ensure a good test today and I find it very interesting connections have opted to replace Simon Pearce with Chris Catlin - this is a horse who needs proper professional handling. Stall 14 is a potential negative, but the selection will most likely be dropped out and brought with a late challenge and it looks like there is enough pace that those tactics might work. I make him a 9/1 shot on my book and as such he represents very good each-way value off a handicap mark which offers scope for plenty of improvement.
