Tuesday 2nd April 2013

Midnight Belle managed to bring us right back down to earth yesterday with a poor run, it is difficult to know exactly why she didn't run to form but we backed her at 22/1 when she won in January and I'll leave her alone now - she probably remains progressive and might have some sort of excuse but she has given us our day in the sun for now.

One bet for today, and a possible ante post selection for Aintree this evening - keep an eye on e-mails.

4.50 Southwell Seamster 3pts each-way @ 7/2 (Generally, get guaranteed)

Putin has just been declared a non runner and with the dead eight lining up, I'm inclined to support Seamster who looks progressive on the surface. All three of his wins have come here, and I just feel he might not have run to his very best form last twice having returned from a long absence to win in February. Graham Lee is reunited with him this afternoon and a draw in stall three is fine over this trip. Mataajir and Fairy Wing are the obvious dangers, but I'm inclined to oppose Fairy Wing stepping up two furlongs in distance from stall 9. 7/2 is a price I feel represents value and looking at the shape of the race I think there's a chance of a drift on course. Take guaranteed odds where possible.
