3.30 Southwell Steel City Boy 1pt each-way @ 33/1 (Sporting Bet, 28/1 and 25/1 generally guaranteed) AND 1pt win @ Betfair SP.
This is actually a pretty bad race even by Southwell's standards, but I think Steel City Boy should be a 16/1 shot and is worth backing each-way based on his decent penultimate run behind Fairy Wing in a better contest than this. He raced from out of the handicap last time and can be forgiven his poor run in better company, but I have a sneaking feeling he is better at six furlongs these days and he is drawn well in stall four in a poor contest. His jockey / trainer is a moderate jockey so don't expect anything in a driving finish, but she knows her horses well and is adept enough to win races around this course. A handicap mark of OR54 is fair and although the selection is ten and probably not getting any better, he has ideal conditions today and can outrun a big price at the very least.
