Non account bet Remote won well yesterday, apart from that it wasn't our day. What a fantastic day for racing, though, with Wesley Ward's American raider breaking the 2yo track raider, Lady Cecil's team landing an emotional win, the Queen's Estimate winning the Gold Cup, and the Motley Crew that were the connections of Roca Tumu celebrating their win forty minutes later - it was a day that had everything.
Interests in three races today.
Selections:
Kiyoshi 1pt each-way @ 14/1 (Bet 365, William Hill, guaranteed, 12/1 generally guaranteed) AND 1pt win @ Betfair SP. - WON
Race Hunter 1pt each-way @ 20/1 (Bet 365, Ladbrokes, guaranteed, 16/1 generally guaranteed) AND 1pt win @ Betfair SP.
Qatar Racing have clearly targeted this meeting with their juveniles, and form figures of 157037 with their juveniles this week don't really do justice to how well some of them have run. I'm keen on both their representatives in this contest. Kiyoshi was impressive in winning at Goodwood, looks sizeable and scopey and appeals as the type to see out this race strongly. She is by Dubawi, whose progeny boast a 20% record at this track, and should only improve for this her third career start. She is the choice of Jamie Spencer and 14/1 looks too big.
Race Hunter is ridden by the peerless Johnny Murtagh. David Brown's filly was ultra impressive on her debut at Catterick, she didn't beat much but the form has been franked by the third and the yard's juveniles usually improve markedly for their first run. Like Kiyoshi, she has to improve plenty to challenge Sandiva, but in a race where many can be ruled out she makes each-way appeal at the prices.

Selection: Fantastic Moon 1pt each-way AND 1pt win @ 20/1 (Bet 365, Ladbrokes, William Hill, many independents, guaranteed)
I can't have Battle Of Marengo at Evens, especially given Derby runner's record in this race. The unexposed "sexy" pair of Mutashaded and Hillstar don't make much appeal at the prices, but I find it interesting Keiren Fallon rides Jeremy Noseda's Fantastic Moon over Greatwood of Luca Cumani's. The selection won the Solario Stakes as a two year old ultimately quite impressively despite the winning margin, and had excuses on his last two juvenile starts. Kieren rode him in the Breeder's Cup Juvenile Turf, for which he was sent off only 9/1. It was reported afterwards that he was running a temperature and wasn't right on the day. His seasonal debut was underwhelming, but that was in April and Noseda's turf horses weren't in great form then. The stable's +£16.78 level stakes profit with turf horses in June (7/21 33% strike rate) suggests they are coming to hand and given the selection's form over shorter, he may not be inconvenienced if this is not run at a manic pace. 20/1 looks too big and with the dead eight lining up, we'll play each-way and win.
3:45 Coronation Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) (Fillies) Cl1 1m
Non Account Bet: Big Break to win @ 6/1
No interest here, but it should be a great race to watch. Dermot Weld has always been sweet on Big Break, she should come on for her Curragh run and looks the call at 6/1.
4:25 Wolferton Handicap (Listed Race) Cl1 1m2f
Non Account Bet: Genzy each-way @ 20/1 (Generally)
No bet here, but Genzy has been gradually finding his feet in Britain for Ian Williams, he makes appeal as an in form horse with back class in better company than this.
5:00 Queen´s Vase (In Memory of Sir Henry Cecil) (Group 3) Cl1 2m
Non Account Bet: Feel Like Dancing each-way @ 28/1 - e/w 2nd
Delighted this race will be run in memory of Sir Henry. No account bets, but I think Feel Like Dancing will certainly sharpen up for the application of sheepskin cheekpieces, given his tendency to look around, and he might just be suited by this kind of test. Looks big at 28/1.
5:35 Buckingham Palace Stakes (Handicap) Cl2 7f
Selections:
Emilio Largo 1pt each-way AND 1pt win @ 10/1 (Generally, get guaranteed odds and 5 places generally paid)
Jamsie 1pt each-way AND 1pt win @ 20/1 (Bet 365, Stan James, Betpack.com, Ladbrokes, guaranteed)
The switch from Sir Henry Cecil to James Fanshawe is interesting here, Emilio Largo is now trained by a man who specialises in these Ascot handicaps (as strange as that sounds given Sir Henry Cecil's Ascot record!). The selection is an out and out seven furlong specialist in my view, and he looks to have been targeted at this contest by connections. His form behind Yeeow over six furlongs last time out looks strong, he caught the eye staying on well and today's test should suit well. The ground went against him last year at this meeting and I expect him to go close today from a draw I think will be positive.
Jamsie is an Irish raider; the Irish challenge this week has been strong and there are some well handicapped horses being sent over. He was second in this contest last year, in what may have been a stronger race, and it is likely he has also been aimed at this for some time. Pat Smullen is booked to take the ride, and looking at yesterday's results I don't think stall 20 will be a negative, although it is anyone's guess what the jockeys will do.
