5.15 Warwick Jazri 2pts each-way AND 1pt win @ 25/1 (Bet Victor, Stan James, Betpack.com, guaranteed, 20/1 generally guaranteed) - E/W 3rd
This looks a pretty terrible 3yo contest, and even the recent winners aren't up to much on form. Jazri caught my eye on his first start after a gelding operation in January, when Adam Kirby reported he was green. He might be one of those horses who has taken longer than average to overcome the procedure, and he didn't show much on his next start in February. However, he did run on really well last time out over a mile at Kempton, from a wide draw after a wide trip. He didn't achieve that much in the process, but did his best work at the finish which is something I like to see, and he looked on the way back. Milton Bradley's stable have been under a bit of a cloud lately but he did have a horse dead heat for second yesterday and his string might just be coming into form. Jazri seems to me to have grown since his 2yo days and if he takes to the turf, he might have improvement from a mark of OR57. He is one of the few horses in this field to have won a race, and he has the size and scope to improve further. Freddie Tylicki is booked to ride, and he has a decent record at tight turning tracks, which will be important given the selection's draw in stall 10 here. I make the selection more like a 12/1 shot and in such a poor field, with a fitness edge, he is worth backing each-way and win.
