4.55 Yarmouth
Fizzolo 1pt each-way AND 1pt win @ 25/1 (Totesport, Betfred, Bet Victor, Stan James, Betpack.com, guaranteed)
Appellez Baileys 1pt each-way AND 1pt win @ 33/1 (Bet 365, Stan James, Betpack.com, Coral, guaranteed)
Yarmouth maidens sometimes throw up funny results and I'm not too keen on backing the once raced Golden Steps at 5/4, even though he might bolt up. He didn't particularly look any great shakes on his debut despite his price tag and although we might see a different horse today, we equally may not. Goldfellow represents a trainer who has been sending out winners, but looks priced up on potential and jockey booking and I'm also happy to take him on - I'm not a fan of Winker Watson's progeny at all.
Fizzolo showed a small amount of promise in two starts at Southwell and although she might be a handicap project, she patently didn't enjoy the fibresand and she might enjoy a straight six furlongs on fast turf a lot more. Her trainer has a 16% strike rate at this track in the last five seasons returning a profit of +59.25 to level stakes and the booking of Mickael Barzalona for his only ride of the day looks interesting.
Appellez Baileys has shown speed on a couple of his starts but hadn't seemed to be interested in putting it all in. He has been gelded, reverts to a straight track for the first time, switches to turf, and wears a hood. He is a decent size of a horse and the gelding operation might be the making of him. He might prefer galloping straight than trying to make ground going around turns, and he is another who represents a trainer whose horses excel themselves at this track. We'll back both each-way and win, and if one runs a place we get our stake back at least.
