I'm glad we haven't gone in too hard this week because, as sometimes can happen with York, the results have been strange. Most of our selections have run well without winning - hopefully we can pick up a final day winner today.

Van Percy is 2/2 over this trip and ran a very good race on ground perhaps too soft for him in last year's Melrose Stakes. His recent Goodwood win looks strong and winners from the Glorious meeting have a good record in this contest. In a contest where many of the unexposed types have question marks about them, he makes plenty of appeal as a horse who is in the winning habit (three already this year) and the handicapper has arguably been kind in putting him up only 4lb for the Goodwood success. His profile is consistent and the rating he posted at Goodwood suggests he has more room for improvement off OR99. We'll play each-way and win.
